WHO AM I
Hi my name is Mars and I'm from North Adams, MA. I was born on December 31, 2012. I'm an only child and grew up nestled in the beautiful Berkshires at the base of Mount Greylock. I grew up loving everyone around me, nature, and this beautiful world.
My cousin Hayden always told me I was special. She never treated me like I was 13 years younger than she. Hayden, too, was an only child. But neither of us were truly only children because we considered each other sisters.

I missed Hayden immensely when she began studying at Williams College (Class of 2021). I missed our sleepovers at our grandma's house on the weekends and doing art projects on her bedroom rug. When I video called her--it was called FaceTime back then----she would tell me how much homework she had to do and I was always frightened at the thought of having so much work to do and so little free time.

One day while at Tunnel City Coffee near her dorm, Hayden stirred her iced chai latte and squished my cheeks, "Mars--never grow up," she laughed. I bit into my butterfly cookie and responded jokingly, "Never!!" I didn't want to grow up. Especially not go to Williams and be as busy as Hayden. But funny how things change! Life beats on and we are each day reminded that we cannot control what is thrown at us. We just need to learn how to play.
